Arsenal vs Newcastle preview
It seems almost incomprehensible that in a two-horse title race, Arsenal could end up finding themselves third after the weekend’s action!
The decision to focus on the Champions League after crashing out the title race has almost backfired on the Gunners, who are now without a win in their last five games.
Their last home win came against Real Madrid, with four games since that have seen two draws and two defeats.
Mikel Arteta’s men are now just two points ahead of Newcastle in third ahead of the pair’s clash at the Emirates.
Newcastle have won the last three meetings between the teams too – two in the Carabao Cup semi finals – and haven’t conceded a GOAL in any of the three victories.
Results on Friday night could determine whether these sides are into the Champions League or not, or signify quite how important this game is in the race for a spot amongst Europe’s elite.

The Gunners’ final game of the season should see them looking to put on a show but they probably couldn’t have asked for a tougher assignment for that.
