Baltimore police confirmed shortly before midnight that the situation is no longer active.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott confirmed just before midnight that while the active shooter threat is over, the investigation is ongoing.

Morgan State lifted its on-campus shelter-in-place order just after 12.30am.

The university confirmed in an earlier post that an investigation is ongoing.

“Please Note: An active investigation is currently underway related to a report of shots being fired on or near campus,” the message began.

“Please stay clear of the area surrounding Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and shelter in place.”

Amanda Krotki, a spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department, confirmed to The U.S. Sun that at least four people were shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made yet.

Baltimore City Council Member Ryan Dorsey wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “It’s believed there were three shooters firing into the crowd, none apprehended or ID’d at this time.”

Police were going door-to-door inside Thurgood Marshall Hall, a dormitory building where the shooting reportedly took place, according to local Fox affiliate WBFF.

Footage from inside that dorm posted to X showed SWAT teams checking each individual room, where students were reportedly on lockdown for hours.

Baltimore police and school officials have asked students’ family members to avoid the campus area and instead go to the Safeway parking lot at 4401 Harford Road.

SHATTERED GLASS

Initial calls came in at about 9pm, according to WBFF.

Dozens of emergency vehicles were spotted at the scene.

A witness told the outlet that he was standing in the parking lot of Thurgood Marshall Hall on the campus when he heard glass shatter and gunfire.

Helicopters were also observed in the area broadcasting a message for students to shelter in place.

Footage from the scene showed at least one window of a campus building pierced by bulletholes.

It is unclear if the shooting happened from the building or if it was aimed at the dorm.

Maryland State troopers, the FBI, and ATF officials have arrived at the scene.

Morgan State is a historically Black university in Baltimore, Maryland.

Students, staff, and families were gathered on campus on Tuesday to celebrate the annual crowning of Mister and Miss Morgan State University, according to the Baltimore Banner.

That event was scheduled to take place at the Murphy Fine Arts Center, which is one of the areas police and school officials have urged people to avoid.

The university’s homecoming is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
