Tragically the pair couldn’t be saved and were declared dead at the scene on the A361 in Frome, Somerset.
Thomas Lenthall, 39, appeared at Bristol Crown Court today where he pleaded guilty to causing the sister’s deaths.
Two further charges of causing death while driving a motor vehicle without insurance were not put to the businessman today.
He was remanded into custody ahead of sentencing on November 23.
Lenthall was left in a critical but stable condition in hospital following the crash on July 25.
Tributes flooded in for the sisters, known fondly as Maddie and Libby, following their tragic deaths.
Their aunt said: “Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces.
“My beautiful nieces Maddie 21 and Libby 17. Adorable daughters of my dear brother Jason and sister-in-law Verity.
“Lives taken way too soon.”
A JustGiving page was also launched for the sisters.
