BEFUDDLED budgie Mr Darcy is in a flap after falling in love — with a plastic model blue tit.
The bamboozled bird has been captured canoodling on camera with the toy, calling it “pretty” and “gorgeous”.

He is also living up to his Pride and Prejudice character’s namesake by repeatedly pecking his very own Elizabeth Bennet on one or other of her cheeks.
After each planted kiss, head-over-heels Mr Darcy squawks “lovely broccoli” which owner Nancy Laverge reckons must be some sort of budgerigar compliment.
Jeweller Nancy, who was given the green and yellow would-be Romeo as a gift by her daughter during lockdown, said: “He’s in love with Mrs Blue Tit.
“He’s really very flirty and is always pecking and kissing her.
“He’s always full of chat-up lines and he really likes words with rolling ‘r’ sounds, like ‘pretty’.”
Nancy says three-year-old Mr Darcy does not just have eyes for his toy blue tit because other figurines are lavished with attention.
She added: “He’s got a soft spot for a red-haired bird toy so there’s a bit of competition.”
“He loves talking to all his toys. I knew straight away he’d be a talker as he almost wanted to crawl into my mouth when I first spoke to him.”
Nancy, of Dorking, Surrey, has created a Facebook page for Mr Darcy and has posted a clip of him attempting to woo Mrs Blue Tit.
One user commented: “I could listen to him all day.”
Another said: “So cute and adorable.”
