Olympic gold medalist Keely Hodgkinson is the hot favourite to claim the prestigious accolade after dominating the 800m scene this year.
Luke Littler is also in contention to be named Sports Personality of the Year following a meteoric rise to stardom.
The teenage sensation came runner-up at the World Darts Championship in January and has since won ten PDC titles in his debut year on the professional circuit.
