THE family of a woman who died last week have paid tribute to their “beautiful” mum as her son is charged in connection to the tragedy.
Officers were called to reports of an incident at an address in Skelmersdale Road, at 11.30am on Friday 21 March.
A 24-year-old man has since been charged with murder
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Rachel Dixon, 49, tragically died at the scene.
Cops have since arrested a 24-year-old man in relation to the incident.
Oliver Grange of Skelmersdale Road, Clacton, has been charged with murder.
A court has heard that Grange is accused of murdering his mother, Rachel Dixon.
He is next expected to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday 25 April.
Rachel’s family have since shared a tribute with police confirming they are being supported by specialist officers.
The statement read in full: “Our beautiful daughter, sister, mother and auntie, who will be greatly missed by all who was taken away from us far too soon.
“Please respect our privacy at this time.”
Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood added: “My thoughts are with Rachel’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our officers will be supporting them while our work continues in this investigation.”
The incident on Friday was attended by police, paramedics and an air ambulance crew.
