Dramatic pictures of the scorched BMW show the wreck abandoned outside the entrance to the IMO car wash.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the bonnet fire ball as concerned shoppers looked on.

The car wash is now back open and serving customers as normal.

This comes after we reported two major road closures due to crashes this morning.
