OXFORD and Cambridge will compete in the prestigious event at the 170th Boat Race, which is scheduled for next week.
Tensions between the two have increased in the lead-up to this year’s competition because of an eligibility dispute centring on gold champion Tom Ford.

In recent years, Cambridge has dominated both the men’s and women’s races, taking home five of the last six men’s titles and seven in a row for the women.
The dead heat in 1877, the sinking of both boats in 1912, and the race disturbance by a swimmer in 2012 are just a few of the notable events that have occurred over the years.
As usual, the 6.8-kilometer (4-mile, 374-yard) River Thames route will go from Putney to Mortlake in west London.
