A BODY has been found in the search for a dad-of-two who went missing while swimming at a popular beach three weeks ago.
Matthew McDavid, 42, had been swimming off the coast of Flamborough near Thornwick Bay, East Yorkshire, on July 30.
Police have now recovered a body on Tunstall beach in the nearby area of Holderness.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said today: “Officers were in attendance on Tunstall beach following the discovery of a man’s body at around 5.30pm yesterday, Thursday, August 21.
“The man has not yet been formally identified, however at this stage of our investigation, it is believed to be linked to reports of a concern for safety at Thornwick Bay in Flamborough on Wednesday 30 July 2025.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in the coming days however at this time, the circumstances are not thought to be suspicious.
“The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers.”
