It was a close contest, but Conway took the win in the sixth round after referee Howard Foster stopped the fight due to an injury to Udofia.

The 30-year-old’s right eye was left completely swollen, so much so that he was unable to see anything.

Foster believed that it would not be safe enough for him to continue.

After the fight, Udofia took to social media to assure fans that he was okay.

He tweeted: “I’m ok, no fractures or breaks.

“The ref made the right decision, my eye was shut, I felt I boxed to a T.. it’s boxing. We’ll be back.

“Thank you Kieran & @matchroomboxing for the opportunity & congratulations.

“We’ll be back, I love you all.”
