A FOUR-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries to his leg and face after a brutal dog attack on a residential street.

The horror incident occurred in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, with the child rushed to hospital following the harrowing attack.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and asking for CCTV footage of the incident to be shared.

It is believed the attack on the youth occurred on Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle.

Two dogs were seized by cops following the horrific attack on the youth.

The owner of the dogs has been identified by police who will speak with them.

Police said the two dogs were a “Pocket Bully type” and a Staffordshire bull terrier.

Hyndburn Police said in a statement: “We were called at shortly after 1.30pm on Monday 26th May following reports that a child had been bitten by a dog on Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle.

“The child, a four-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and face. Thankfully, those injuries are not life threatening.

“Two dogs have been seized by police – a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type and a Pocket Bully Type and the dog owner has been identified and will be spoken to in due course.

“We know this may be concerning to hear about, but we want to reassure you that enquiries are ongoing into the incident, and we are asking for your help to assist those enquiries.

“We are particularly interested in viewing any CCTV footage of the area, that may have captured the incident.

“If you have any information or footage, or witnessed the incident, please call 101 quoting log 0603 of May 26th.”

The news comes just a few weeks after two toddlers were left seriously injured after being attacked by a dog inside a house in Liverpool.
