Shortly after throwing themselves off the mountain top, the pair’s parachute broke and they plummeted onto the jagged rocks, according to local media.

Fellow paragliders called rescuers who rushed to the scene, where they discovered the Brit and his pilot had both tragically died.

Their bodies were recovered from the rocks and taken to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the distressing crash, and officials are examining the site and the equipment.

The Foreign Office said they had not been approached for assistance over the accident, but stand ready to offer any support they can.

All paragliding flights from the popular spot have been suspended whilst the investigation continues.

Babadag is revered amongst adrenaline junkies as one of Europe‘s top spots for paragliding.

Adventurers flock to enjoy breathtaking views of the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea as they glide down to Earth.

However, fatal accidents on the rocks are all too common.

Another British man tumbled to his death on the slopes in October 2022.

Frank Lally, 62, died after his single jump with a paraglider went dramatically wrong.

That horrific crash was witnessed by several onlookers who frantically called the emergency services.

The Gendarmerie Search and Rescue Battalion Command and the National Medical Rescue Team were dispatched to the scene to assist the complicated rescue.

Frank was loaded onto a stretcher with serious injuries and rushed to Fethiye State Hospital in an ambulance shortly afterward.

Shocking images show the Brit being hauled onto an ambulance as rescuers try to navigate the rough terrain.

But the 62-year-old sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

In 2021, a heart-stopping moment was caught on camera when three paragliding pilots collided in mid-air and plunged into the sea after leaping from the launch site.

The terrifying tangle happened during an Olympic-style air games festival in Oludeiz, Turkey.

Horrifying footage shows the trio plunged into the sea from a height of about 70ft after their parachutes became caught up.

In a separate clip, emergency services can later be seen tending to the gliders who were retrieved from the water and carried away by stretchers on Belcekiz Beach.

The three pilots involved, named as Çağdaş Türkmen, Kars and Murat Can Sak, were taken for treatment at a nearby hospital.

Two were stable after the accident but a third, Türkmen, was left in a “serious” condition.
