She told the cops she remembered nothing after drinking beers with a group of holidaymakers she met in a bar.
Police said she was “semi-conscious” when she was taken to hospital after raising the alarm.
A 36-year-old French tourist was arrested on Monday after the woman’s belongings were found in the room where the alleged sex attack took place.
A police spokesman said: “The young woman had gone for a drink in Palma on Saturday night and met four holidaymakers.
“She got into a conversation and they had a couple of beers.
“From that moment on she doesn’t remember anything, only that she woke up the following day at 8.30am in another hotel which wasn’t her one, dressed but without her underwear on.”
The spokesman said the alleged victim immediately alerted the hotel reception – who then called the cops.
“The woman was taken to hospital where a series of tests, including toxicology tests, were performed to obtain as much information as possible,” he added.
Detectives from Majorca‘s special sex crime unit added: “They found a rucksack with a woman’s belongings in the room where the sex attack is believed to have taken place.
“At that point the suspected author of the crime was arrested. He is one of the people she met in the bar.”
Sources described the woman, whose age is not known, as a British tourist.
It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was remanded in custody after appearing in court or released on bail.
The latest incident follows a number of rape arrests in Majorca over the summer.
An 18-year-old British woman was allegedly gang-raped by by six male tourists in August at “party hotel” BH Mallorca – 400 metres from Magaluf’s renowned strip.
Five French and one Swiss tourist were arrested over the attack while two more suspects were held in France on European arrest warrants.
Less than a fortnight later, three Brit holidaymakers were arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at another Magaluf hotel.
The trio were held as they tried to board a flight to Manchester.
