The tourist was unresponsive and did not have a pulse when he was brought to shore, according to officials.

He was rushed to Gennadi Health Centre, but was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Lindos Port Authority has now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

But it is not the only tragic incident to have been reported in this area in recent weeks.

Another Brit’s body was pulled from the sea off Rhodes just last month.

The 26-year-old was found unconscious after going swimming off the picturesque tourist spot of Lindos.

The Central Port Authority of Rhodes had been alerted to the August 16 incident involving “a young foreigner who was pulled from the sea”.

Emergency services rushed to his aid, but he was pronounced dead at the Archangelos Health Centre.

His name was not disclosed following the tragedy.

And back in June, a 68-year-old Brit was also found dead on a Lindos beach.

The tourist had reportedly gone swimming and lost consciousness before he was found.

Officers from the Central Port Authority of Rhodes rushed to his aid, but he was also declared dead at the Archangelos Health Centre.

Rhodes remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe for Brits.

Elsewhere, a woman has been killed in Ibiza after a vehicle mounted the pavement, leaving two others injured.

The shocking incident happened by Es Pouet Beach, near the popular resort of San Antonio.

Two victims were rushed to private clinic Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic – where one of them sadly died.

A spokesperson for the hospital said: “With regards to the accident yesterday near San Antonio, two of the women injured were taken to the Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic. Both British.

“One of them, aged 23, died yesterday due to the severity of her injuries.

“The other, also aged 23, is in intensive care at the moment.”
