Shocked eye witnesses said the Jeep left the road and careered onto the pavement at around 11.15am.

It crashed into the three young women and knocked down a lamppost on Carrer des Molí – opposite the popular Playa des Pouet beach.

The motor came to a standstill on the pavement just a few feet away from a pedestrian crossing.

Dramatic pictures shared on local media shows crowds of people at the scene with the women being treated by medics on the ground.

Shortly after, several police cars and three ambulances arrived before transporting the injured trio to a medical centre.

According to eyewitnesses, two of the girls appeared to be in serious condition, while a third had foot injuries.

The Brit was rushed to the Can Misses Hospital Emergency Department around 90 minutes after she was first hit.

She is said to be in a stable condition and is conscious.

The other two young women were transferred to the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic.

The driver was a young man, around 30 years old, according to witnesses.

Officers have closed traffic on the street and are interviewing numerous witnesses to clarify the details of the accident.

It comes just days after two Brit holidaymakers were also rushed to intensive care after being run over in Ibiza.

Mum-of-three Ebony Cordingley, 26, and her mum-of-two friend Lauren Holmes, 27, were rushed to separate hospitals following the incident.

The pair, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, were hit by a Toyota Corolla just before 2am on Tuesday morning.

Commenting on the victims’ conditions at the time, a spokesman for the Civil Guard said: “Both are British and both are serious.

“They were pedestrians who were run over by a 24-year Spaniard at the wheel of a Toyota Corolla. One is 26 and the other is 27.

“The incident happened at 1.50am on the El-600 road between Ibiza and San Antonio in the municipality of San Antonio.”
