After being pulled out by a lifeguard he was quickly taken to the Paphos Hospital by an ambulance and put on a ventilator.
Doctors desperately tried to save him as his condition worsened.
After remaining unconscious he was taken to Makarios Hospital of Nicosia for more treatment but he sadly passed away.
According to local police the boy was on holiday with his mother and younger brother when he died on October 6,.
This isn’t the first time a Brit has died in Cyprus after guests tried to save a British tourist, 21, after they saw his lifeless body at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool.
The on-duty lifeguards at the King Evelthon Hotel were allegedly too far away to spot him.
A fellow Brit staying at the same hotel saw the whole thing unfold.
He told The Sun Online: “One of the entertainers ran down the stairs screaming to the lifeguards.
“She had to run past us to reach the lifeguards.
“That’s when I saw the man being pulled out of the pool and someone performing CPR.”
Earlier this year a British tourist also reportedly drowned in his Algarve hotel pool in Portugal.
The 27-year-old holidaymaker had a cardiac arrest in the water and couldn’t be saved in time.
