COUNTLESS Brits have discovered a simple way to banish silverfish before they cause more chaos.
The handy hack comes from Healthline and aims to rid homes of the critters before they damage belongings.

Silverfish are nocturnal insects that often become pests in the home.
A free and simple way to do away with the creatures is by using a simple newspaper trick.
“Wet (the newspaper) so silverfish crawl into it and make their homes,” according to the website.
“After a few days, throw the newspaper away or burn it to get rid of the silverfish that have stayed in there.”
But even if homeowners manage to get rid of a silverfish outbreak, their presence can be the sign of something more sinister.
The insects are attracted to slightly damp places which means their presence could indicate a home is such.
To solve this issue, Healthline recommends clearing “the perimeter around your home of leaves and other damp debris”.
Other tips to keep a space silverfish-free include storing clothes in a dry environment using a dehumidifier and ventilating any moist rooms.
“This includes your bathroom or your kitchen. Open windows and doors and turn on fans to clear moisture from the air,” according to the website.
It comes after homeowners were warned about silverfish sneaking into their houses for winter.
The pests are known to munch through wallpaper, books, curtains and cereal boxes.
In fact, one pest control expert revealed silverfish in your house could mean forking out hundreds of pounds in repairs.
The latest advice comes after Paris has been under siege, by blood-sucking bed bugs.
Now, many are worried the pesky bugs may make their way to the UK – as cases have risen recently by 65 per cent year-on year.
