BRITS have been warned not to travel due to “dense fog” covering huge swathes of the UK.

Millions are on the move today – with 3.8million drivers expected to hit the road.

Motorists should only travel between Kilgetty and Red Roses in south east Wales if “absolutely necessary”, local cops said.

And the Met Office said murky fog patches could settle on roads across the country.

The RAC said Brits will make a whopping 3.8million road trips today as they head home from Christmas getaways.

Drivers should try to avoid major roads during the hours of 10am to 3pm, when traffic will likely build up.

Engineering work is also taking place at Liverpool Street, Paddington and St Pancras.

Major signalling work in Crewe and Cambridge will also affect services across the north west and east of England.

Today will be cloudy for most with mist and fog patches persisting all day in parts of England and Wales.

There will be rain across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, forecasters said.

But it will be brighter and chilly in the far north west, with isolated showers.
