Mikel Arteta handed first competitive starts to £114.5million duo Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi at Old Trafford.
And the Gunners boss is set to further bolster his squad with the imminent arrival of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.
The England international appeared to be closing in on a move to North London rivals Tottenham before his boyhood club Arsenal swooped in at the last minute and turned his head.
Eze is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a £68million switch to the Gunners.
But will the 27-year-old be signed in time to make his debut against Leeds on Saturday night?
Can Eberechi Eze play for Arsenal against Leeds?
Premier League registration rules state that any new signings must be registered with the league by noon on the working day prior to a specific fixture.
This means in order for Eze to make his Arsenal debut against Leeds on Saturday night, the deal will need to be completed by 12pm on Friday.
At the time of writing, it seems unlikely the midfielder’s move will be finalised in time for him to play this weekend.
It seems more reasonable to assume that Eze will be an Arsenal player by the time the Gunners make the trip to Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday, August 31.
