DREAM TEAM managers must select a captain (and vice captain) for Gameweek 4 before Saturday’s 11am deadline.

Let’s run through the runners and riders.

It takes a certain degree of bravery to look past Liverpool’s double header of Burnley (a) and Atletico Madrid (h).

The Clarets have conceded the most shots in the Premier League across the first three Gameweeks while Diego Simeone’s men have had a tough time of it in La Liga with two draws and a defeat so far this season.

Most gaffers would expect Arne Slot’s troops to enjoy themselves but who will be the chief beneficiary?

Hugo Ekitike (£5.5m) and Cody Gakpo (£5m) are the two top performers in the squad but the pair may lose minutes now Alexander Isak (£6.5m) is an Anfield resident.

And so many Dream Team bosses will be drawn to Mohamed Salah (£7.5m) once again.

The Egyptian superstar hasn’t been as involved as he would like this term but Liverpool’s first double Gameweek of the campaign might provide the perfect platform.

Erling Haaland (£7.5m) is the other obvious captaincy candidate.

Manchester City have the luxury of back-to-back home games against Manchester United and Napoli.

Their fixtures may not appear quite as favourable as Liverpool’s but the Norwegian poacher has stormed out the blocks in 2025/26 with nine goals in five games for club and country.

Dream Team managers who forked out big bucks for both Salah and Haaland have a big decision to make and some may even consider activating their Max Captain Booster to guarantee the optimum selection in what feels like a pivotal Gameweek.

Elsewhere, Joao Pedro (£4.6m) is averaging 10 points-per-game at the start of this season and therefore deserves due consideration.

The Brazilian will fancy his chances away to Brentford but Chelsea’s first Champions League match-up of the season is a difficult one in the form of Bayern Munich (a).

It’s rare that a defender is a genuine captaincy contender but Daniel Munoz (£5.5m) may fit the bill at this moment in time.

The Crystal Palace wing-back was the only player in his position to register 300+ points last season and he’s picked up where he left off with 24 points from his first three outings this time around.

The FA Cup holders will host Sunderland this weekend before welcoming Millwall to Selhurst Park in midweek for Carabao Cup commitments.

Rotation is common in the domestic cups but Oliver Glasner tends to name strong line-ups and so there’s a chance Munoz starts both fixtures.

If that is the case then the Colombia international could easily bank a big double-digit haul — he’s both a clean sheet hopeful and potent attacking threat.

That being said, it would be very bold to strap the armband to Munoz over Salah or Haaland, perhaps an undue risk at this early stage of the season.
