Chaos before Champions League clash as 19 fans are arrested ahead of PSG’s fixture against Atalanta

CLASHES ahead of the Champions League fixture between PSG and Atalanta have reportedly led to 19 arrests.

It’s reported that weapons were used and damage was caused to the local area during the clashes.

According to Le Parisien, the 19 fans that were reprimanded and taken into custody were all supporters of Atalanta.

While a number of those involved were said to have been wearing face coverings.

The incident took place last night, ahead of this evening’s match.

Public order and traffic police were reportedly dispatched to the incident after calls.

Le Parisien claim that PSG officials have said that the individuals who took part in these fights have been banned from the Parc des Princes for a long time.

It comes after reported claims from individuals that they are fans of PSG.

The Ligue 1 club host Atalanta at the Parc des Princes at 8pm UK time tonight.

PSG, who have had a faultless start to their league campaign, are hoping to carry that into Europe as they launch their defence of their Champions League title.

Meanwhile Atalanta will be looking to improve on their knockout play-off round exit last term.

The violent clashes come after Marseille ultras came to blows with Spanish police ahead of their game against PSG last night.

Video of the ugly scenes showed the moment that supporters could be seen clashing with the authorities.

The police were armed with batons and hit out at a couple of fans while the masses retreated.
