A CHARITY worker has denied murdering a top chef who was beaten to death at Notting Hill Carnival.

Mussie Imnetu, who worked under Gordon Ramsay, was discovered unconscious with catastrophic brain injuries on August 26.

The 41-year-old was rushed to hospital but tragically died four days later.

Omar Wilson appeared at the Old Bailey today where he pleaded not guilty to murder.

The 31-year-old was originally charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent but this was changed following Mussie’s death.

The court heard previously how the chef had been chatting to three people when Wilson allegedly approached and headbutted him.

Mussie left but then returned 70 seconds later where he was punched five times in the head, it was said.

Prosecutor Julian Winship said: “The deceased collapsed and the defendant continued to attack him punching to the head.”

A provisional trial date has been set for February 3 next year.

Wilson, who is currently self-employed and is a director for a charity, was remanded into custody.

The horror unfolded after Mussie, who is the head chef at Arts Club in Dubai, left the restaurant’s sister venue in Dover Street, Mayfair.

A CCTV image released by police shows the Swedish chef looking at his phone as he departed shortly after 1pm.

He was wearing a blue T-shirt and black jeans, and later bought a white baseball cap, Scotland Yard said.

Mussie then arrived at the Dr Power restaurant on Queensway, West London, at around 10.30pm.

He was discovered just under an hour later and rushed to hospital.

Mussie suffered catastrophic brain injuries, including bleeds on the brain and multiple cardiac arrests.

He was visiting the UK on business from Dubai where he lives and works.

As well as collaborating with Gordon Ramsay, he had also worked for MasterChef host Marcus Wareing and Alain Ducasse.
