The pair are due to fight each other at WrestleMania 41.

But they were involved in a heated confrontation this week with some personal digs.

Stratton made reference to Flair “being alone” following her divorce from fellow wrestler Andrade last year.

Flair previously broke down in tears over the separation, with the ex-couple having previously been married for four years, and admitted “I felt like I was failing.”

But she clapped back at Stratton by claiming her rival’s partner, WWE star Ludwig Kaiser, was “in my DMs.”

All personal comments were edited out by WWE chiefs when the clip made it onto social media.

And it forced Flair into making a statement online.

She said: “After being blindsided by my personal trauma on live television, my character said something on air that was not true.

“And I’d like to take this opportunity to clear the air.

“I should have NEVER called the Chicago fans smart. I sincerely apologise.”

Fans reacted to Flair’s jokey statement on social media.

One said: “Such a graceful queen, you didn’t need to say this but you did.”

Another declared: “We’ve never been so back.”

One noted: “Best heel in the biz.”

Another added: “Chicago didn’t deserve you queen.”
