Chelsea vs Tottenham preview
An intriguing encounter awaits as Chelsea and Tottenham renew hostilities at Stamford Bridge this week.
Spurs arrive having lost the north London derby 3-2 in an entertaining encounter on their own patch, but they did boss possession and xG stats against the league leaders.
Tottenham now sit seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and will likely need to win the majority of their remaining five games to qualify for the Champions League.
Meanwhile Chelsea enter the contest after a credible 2-2 draw with the Villans, and perhaps should have collected maximum points were it not for a controversial VAR ruling.
The Blues are now winless since annihilating Everton 6-0, although that difficult run includes games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Villa.
Despite just 13 wins this season, Mauricio Pochettino’s side still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa Conference League, but will likely need to win all of their remaining five matches.

Chelsea vs Tottenham betting tips
Win and BTTS
Stamford Bridge isn’t a particularly happy hunting ground for Tottenham. In fact it’s more of a graveyard. Tottenham have won ONE of their last 33 away games against Chelsea, the last being a 3-1 victory back in April 2018 when managed by Mauricio Pochettino.
Only against Manchester United have Tottenham lost more Premier League games than they have against Chelsea, and that’s a run I expect top continue this week.
Yes, the Blues are winless in three. But they really should have beaten Manchester City at Wembley and having their winner against Aston Villa scratched off was extremely harsh.
Chelsea have won seven of their last nine at Stamford Bridge, and they’ve netted 29 goals in their last 10 home league matches. I think it’ll be full of goals, but with Chelsea running out winners.

Goalscorer
Perhaps not the most obvious selection for an anytime goalscorer, but Conor Gallagher is a sizeable 5/1 to get on the scoresheet on Thursday.
The midfielder, 24, has struck six goals in 45 appearances this season – including two in his last five against Manchester United and Aston Villa.
In terms of goal threat, he’s actually registered the fifth highest number of touches in the opposition penalty area of any Chelsea player and he’s also fifth for most efforts on goal (43).
Yes, Cole Palmer is the obvious candidate but he’s odds-on at 4/5 and Gallagher represents the bigger value option.

Bookings
There were a bumper seven bookings and two red cards in the reverse fixture back in November’s meeting – and there’s likely to be a few more under the lights this week.
Referee Robert Jones is in charge, and he’s dished out 154 cards in 33 matches this season – that averages to around 4.6 cards per game.
Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma looks the most likely recipient of one of those cards. He’s collected seven yellows in 25 league appearances and has been booked TWICE by Jones already this season (vs Arsenal and vs Fulham).
Only Destiny Udogie and Dejan Kulusevski have committed more league fouls than Bissouma’s 31 but they got theirs in nearly 600 more minutes of competitive action.
