HOW to tackle a man who is on the brink of playing away? It’s a familiar problem for rugby Wags.

These strapping macho men are usually more posh and less well paid than top football stars but are just as likely to fall prey to booze and blondes.

Chloe Madeley’s husband James Haskell was photographed last weekend cosying up to PR executive Martine Bridge outside a London night spot at 1.30am.

James, 38, and his pal and fellow ex-England star Mike Tindall, 45, were both notorious party boys back in the day.

But since Mike married the late Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips he has become a devoted family man and father-of-three.

James has admitted parenthood to daughter Bodhi, 14 months, is “an emotional rollercoaster”.

So what can 36-year-old Chloe, daughter of daytime TV’s famous presenting duo Richard and Judy, learn from Zara?

No-nonsense equestrian Zara made it plain almost from the start that she was going to be the only blonde in Mike’s life.

Her husband learned early on that there were lines he could never cross.

He had a tricky moment two months after their 2011 wedding when he was pictured in a bar with a mystery blonde after playing for England in New Zealand.

Zara had every right to be furious but instead continued to compete in the international Horse Trials in Ireland.

She was never going to show weakness or appear needy.

And he has hardly put a foot wrong since. He clearly loves his fiery wife very much.

But James appears to think he can party the night away while Chloe waits at home with the baby only to be rewarded with newspaper stories and speculation about her marriage.

Zara would never tolerate such treatment.

Of course it is not clear if Chloe even wants to stay married.

She was out on the town with girlfriends last week wearing tiny shorts and thigh-high boots without her wedding ring.

Many marriages struggle when children alter the dynamic.

It would be very sad for Chloe and James to throw everything away.

So she might want to take a leaf out of Zara’s book, move forward and forgive if not forget.
