CHRIS EUBANK JR is set for a massive fine after missing weight by just 0.05lb ahead of his fight with Conor Benn.

Eubank was due to arrive at 11am but still had not showed up past midday – leaving Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn fuming.

SunSport understands Eubank was using the time to trim the extra weight off to try and hit the contracted 160lb allowance.

At his first attempt, he scaled 160.2lb before his second and final go saw him tip 160.05lb – missing the mark by an agonising 0.05lb.

For context, that is the same weight as a Double AA Battery.

It will also hit Eubank in the pockets with a penalty of £375,000 to be deducted from his purse per the rules in their contract.

Benn meanwhile weighed in surprisingly light at 156.4lbs – nearly 4lb under the middleweight limit.

Much has been made of the fight weight heading into the second generation grudge match.

The born rivals first signed for a 157lb catchweight clash in 2022 – causing controversy with Eubank having NEVER fought that low.

But it was KOd with just days to go as Benn tested positive for clomiphene – a banned substance known to boost testosterone.

He protested his innocence and took his career to America – having two wins at the light-middleweight limit.

Meanwhile, UK Anti-Doping dropped the case against him, allowing Benn to fight on British soil again.

But after the doping scandal, Eubank was in no mood to make concessions and demanded the bout be at the 160lb middleweight limit.

There is only a 10lb rehydration clause – restricting what both can weigh on the morning of the bout.

So both Eubank and Benn must be 170lb or under in 24 hours’ time.

But Eubank was keen to reiterate at Thursday’s press conference that this bout will not be decided by weight.

He said: “How do I beat Conor Benn? Any way I want to.

“It’s not about strength and speed and age and weights. All the things you guys love to talk about.

“It’s about dedication, it’s about who’s paid their dues and who’s done it clean. Who’s dedicated their life? Who’s real and who’s fake.

“And I believe all those categories are in my favour.”

Eubank also opened up on how the brutal process of cutting weight is nothing compared to the pain of losing his brother Sebastian.

Sebastian passed away in 2021 – leaving behind his son Raheem.

Eubank said: “The weight is painful. I’m in pain right now.

“I’ll be in even more pain tonight and tomorrow morning. But the question I ask myself is what is pain?

“I have a 31-year-old brother, he is buried in the desert in Dubai, that’s pain.

“His son Raheem, three years old, he asks ‘Why can’t I see my daddy? Why can’t he take me to school?’ That’s pain.

“My own father, a man I idolized for my entire life, we don’t speak, he thinks I am a disgrace. These things are what pain is to me.

“If I can deal with all of these trial and tribulations, then the weight cut, the rehydration clause, they are not an issue.”
