CHRIS FROOME made his first public appearance since his horror crash at a sports awards show.

The four-time Tour de France champion was airlifted to hospital after suffering a life-threatening heart injury.

He was released from hospital on September 5 and shared a photo where his cuts and scars were still visible.

But the cyclist appeared to be back on the mend as he attended the Pho3nix Foundation Sport With Purpose Charity Gala 2025 in Zurich.

Froome, 40, spoke on stage as part of a panel consisting of Usain Bolt, Anthony Joshua and Mika Haikonnen.

He was interviewed ahead of the ceremony too where he was asked about his health.

He said: “I think this was a motivation for me to try and push in terms of the rehab and getting out of hospital in time to be ready for this event because it sounds like its going to be an amazing evening.”

Froome looked stylish in a tuxedo and posed for a photo with eight-time Olympic gold medalist Bolt.

He also took a selfie with Joshua and was in high spirits after undergoing a quick recovery.

The Brit was hospitalised following a serious bike crash in the south of France while on a training ride.

Froome underwent surgery after suffering a collapsed lung, four broken four ribs and fracturing a bone in his back.

Doctors also discovered he had suffered pericardial rupture – a tear to the sac that surrounds the heart.

Following his release Froome shared a photo of him leaving hospital while holding hands with his daughter Katie, seven.

He wrote on social media: “Relieved to be heading home from the hospital today.

“Thanks to the staff at the HIA Sainte Anne.”
