CHRIS WILDER will reportedly be SACKED by Sheffield United TODAY.

Wilder, 57, oversaw the club reach 90 points and finish third in the Championship, only behind centurions Burnley and Leeds United.

However, they were beaten in the play-off final at Wembley by Sunderland.

The defeat means that the Blades have continued to fail to gain promotion through the playoffs for the NINTH time

The Telegraph have now claimed that Wilder could be sacked from his position.

The decision would be three weeks after the heartbreak at Wembley.

The report has suggested that senior figures at the club are prepped for a recruitment meeting.

It is also claimed that the owners of COH Sports are “keen” to hire a successor to Wilder before pre-season.

SunSport has contacted Wilder’s representatives for comment.

It would be the second time Wilder has been sacked by the Blades.

He previously led the club to England’s top-flight in 2019 but was axed in 2021 after 28 games of the 2020/21 season.

The American owners have already introduced a new approach to the club’s scouting team.

The club now uses AI to scout players and three players have been signed off the back of it.

The latest player to be signed with AI is little-known star Ehije Ukaki from Bulgarian top-flight club Botev Plovdiv.

Christian Nwachukwu and Jefferson Caceres were signed after being scouted by AI earlier this year.

Neither of them has made an appearance for the club, but Caceres was on the bench for one game.
