After Shields had dominated the middleweight and welterweight divisions, she took her talents to the heavyweight division and hasn’t looked back.
The 30-year-old’s heavyweight debut last year saw her defeat Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse via TKO, which earned her the WBC, WBF, and WBO titles.
Her latest victory against Danielle Perkins saw her pick up the vacant WBO title, making her the first undisputed heavyweight champion in women’s history.
Born in Flint, Michigan, Shields will be fighting very close to home at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
She faces the veteran boxer and current IBF Light-Heavyweight champion, Lani Daniels.
Daniels, 37, has previously held the IBF heavyweight belt, but in late 2023, decided to drop to the light heavyweight division, where she claimed the IBF title and defended it twice.
She now moves back up to the heavyweight division in the hopes of shaking up the unstoppable force that is Shields.
