A PORTABLE loo firm had a stinker — after £40,000 worth of its toilets were nicked.

The 40 cubicles were nabbed in the night from a field after being hired for a motor racing event.

The raiders are believed to have cut a padlock and used a Ford Transit van to take the loos — made by Plastic Solutions — in multiple trips.

Neil Griffiths, 53, said the heist has put a strain on his Three Counties Toilet Hire firm.

He said: “We’re a family business. This could finish us.

“It’s a quarter of our stock and they were all new toilets.

“It’s going to be almost impossible to get them back, so I want to make these loos too hot to handle.”

The firm hired out the cubicles to Ludlow Autograss Club in Pencombe, Herefordshire, two weeks ago.

They were left in a secure field at the site while Mr Griffiths went away on holiday.

He discovered the theft yesterday.

The loo boss, of Great Malvern, Worcs, said: “I was speaking to the guy who runs the club and he said, ‘You’ve picked your toilets up then?’.

“I said, ‘No I haven’t’. They were there last Monday but gone by Friday.

“A farmer saw a Ford Transit leaving the area.”

Police say they have nothing to go on.

Mr Griffiths added: “It’s looking bleak.”

His son Kieran, 26, said: “It’s going to take us years to get that money back.”
