A COUPLE spent just £1,500 on a wedding by having a reception at TGI Fridays — and telling guests to pay for their own meals.
Jake Richardson, 32, and bride Natalie, 31, had a first date at the restaurant exactly ten years earlier.

About 60 guests joined them — along with dozens of random diners — as the pair did not book out the branch in Prestwich, Gtr Manchester.
The set menu was beef or chicken burgers for mains, a sharing platter and a chocolate brownie for dessert.
Barber Jake said: “We were never going to afford a luxury wedding, so we’d rather save money for a house. Our first date was there so we thought, ‘Let’s just get it done there’.
“This was TGI’s first wedding, which is pretty special. We had speeches, a photographer and it was decorated like a traditional wedding.”
The whole day set the couple back just £1,560 — with the average UK wedding said to cost around £18,400.
Natalie’s £900 wedding dress was the biggest expense — but she ditched heels for white trainers.
The mum of two said: “It was a fantastic day.”
The couple married earlier at Rochdale Register Office at a cost of £360.
Rhiannon Scarlett, from TGI Friday’s, said: “We’re thrilled to have been part of Jake and Natalie’s story.”
