The awestruck child could not hide his emotions as he sobbed in the tunnel before walking out with Ronaldo.

During the national anthems, the kid was constantly looking behind at the Real Madrid and Manchester United legend.

The Al Nassr captain made sure that the fan was okay and could be seen giving him a hug after the anthems as he continued to shed tears.

Ronaldo, 40, shared a clip of the moment on his X account and added a touching caption.

He wrote: “I made a new friend.

“Grateful for the love and support every single day and I hope everyone gets to follow their dreams!”

The kid appeared to be a good luck charm for Ronaldo as he netted his 139th and 140th international goals.

His first came in the 21st minute which is the same number as the squad number worn by Diogo Jota.

The former Liverpool forward tragically died in July after a horror car crash in Zamora, Spain.

The 5-0 win over Armenia was Portugal‘s first since the death of Jota.

Ruben Neves paid tribute to his former Wolves team-mate by taking his No21 jersey for the national team.

While defender Joao Cancelo dedicated his celebration to Jota as he copied his iconic gaming move.

Ronaldo’s two goals also took him to 38 goals in World Cup qualifiers, putting him clear of Lionel Messi on 36.

He is still one behind all-time record holder Carlos Ruiz, who netted 39 for Guatemala.

The moment between Ronaldo and the young fan came just a day after he was forced to shove one away.

He was approached by the eager supporter while walking in Portugal’s team hotel and made sure they knew not to get too close.
