The dad-of-two has stacked the bottles into a pyramid-like structure – layered on top of acrylic sheets.
But the stunning vodka tree has prompted a frosty reception from his family.
Michael, from Wingate, County Durham, told The Sun: “I love Smirnoff so what better way to celebrate the festive season?
Michael, who works as a fabricator, branded the tree “a testament to the holidays” and his favourite drink, a vodka Pepsi Max.
He unveiled the masterpiece to his family this week – much to the horror of his partner, hairdresser Ruth, 32.
He said: “She wasn’t too pleased.
“But I’ve told her it’s staying.
“It’s a bit precariously balanced so she said the kids can’t go anywhere near it.
“We’ve got another tree to put the presents under which is probably for the best.”
