DARTS champ Luke Littler has headed off on holiday to celebrate his historic win — splashing some of his £500,000 prize money on a trip to Benidorm.

The 17-year-old, who became the youngest world darts champion a week ago, has whisked his family off to Spain.

Luke was pictured alongside pub singer Matt Fisher — a well-known face in the resort — on Tuesday.

He surprised onlookers when he asked Matt for an autograph and selfie, despite being catapulted to world stardom.

Matt, 44, has been performing in resort bars and clubs since 1998 and appeared on The X Factor in 2006.

One fan joked on social media: “Comes to Costa Blanca, and asks Matt for an autograph. Priceless.”

Luke had headed off on Monday with his parents, Lisa Littler, 40, and Anthony Buckley, 43 — his “biggest fans”.

They were also joined by his sister Caitlin, older brother Leon, 21, his partner, and their baby.

The teen sensation was trying to keep a low profile in Manchester Airport’s lounge before his flight.

He wore his hood up and kept his earphones in but a source said: “I spotted Luke with his family.

He clearly didn’t want to be spotted.

“I approached him for a photo but he refused. I shook his hand and congratulated him on his recent win. He appeared a bit annoyed that I’d recognised him, so I suggested he was attracting more attention with his hood up.

“I walked away and he’d taken his hood down and had borrowed his brother’s baseball cap instead.”

Temperatures this week in Benidorm have reached 20C, compared with -6C and heavy snow in his home town of Warrington, Cheshire.

One holidaymaker said Luke had agreed to a photo with her boy.

And a couple posted a selfie with him at Benidorm’s old town on Facebook, saying: “Met him today, nice lad.”

It is thought the holiday was a last-minute decision.

After his win, Luke was asked if a trip was on the cards.

He said: “We’ll go home tonight. We’ll see where we go.”

He won the PDC World Darts Championship final against Dutch ace Michael Van Gerwen 7-3 at London’s Alexandra Palace last week.

In the past 12 months, Luke has won over £1.5million in prize money, as well as landing sponsorship deals with Microsoft and Boohoo.

He also holidayed with his parents in Benidorm for ten days in May following champions week.

And the prodigy has moved his family into a new house on a millionaire’s row in Warrington.

The plush five-bedroom pad reportedly costs £6,000 a month to rent and boasts a swimming pool, large garden and six bathrooms.

The teenager, who turns 18 later this month, is due to compete at the Bahrain Masters starting next week.

Luke’s agent has been contacted for comment.
