BRAZILIAN police have seized the phone of a glamorous social worker who claims David Luiz threatened her after she refused to join him in a threesome.

Cops acting on a court order took the device after the 38-year-old footballer, now playing for Fortaleza, sued Francisca Karollainy Barbosa Cavalcante for defamation and slander.

But her lawyer Fabiano Tavora told local press the mobile was not seized during a search of her home.

He said: “Karollainy voluntarily handed over her phone for forensic examination at a police station in Fortaleza.”

“If there was a court order to search and seize the phone, it was made without hearing the other party.

“In any case I’m not surprised by judicial or extrajudicial measures David Luiz may take to put an end to this case.”

The row exploded last month when Miss Cavalcante went to police alleging threatening messages from Luiz after their alleged fling soured.

A restraining order was issued against the Brazil international, who is engaged to long-time partner Bruna Loureiro.

She claimed she rejected his invitation to take part in a threesome, sparking a heated dispute.

Screenshots allegedly sent by the star show him warning about his “money and power,” with one message allegedly threatening her son, saying he could “pay the consequences”.

A third threat is alleged to have stated: “I can simply make you disappear.”

The brunette also claimed Luiz offered her £14,000 to stay quiet once she went public.

According to local media reports, Luiz first met the social worker after he contacted her online and invited her to stay at a hotel in Fortaleza, in Brazil‘s north east.

The former Chelsea defender has fiercely denied the accusations.

In a statement, his lawyer insisted he had never met his accuser, though admitted to a brief online chat.

They also pointed to the lack of any record of their supposed stay at Fortaleza’s Magna Praia Hotel, adding: “David Luiz reaffirms his commitment to the truth and trusts the facts will be duly clarified.”

His lawyer confirmed he had requested the seizure of Cavalcante’s phone but said he was barred from further comment by a judicial secrecy order.

Tavora meanwhile said he was “not surprised by judicial or extrajudicial measures David Luiz may take to put an end to this case.”

Luiz is best known for his multiple stints playing in the Premier League – twice for Chelsea and once during an uninspiring run at Arsenal.

Between 2011 to 2015 he won the Champions LeagueEuropa League and an FA Cup during his initial run in England.

When he returned after a successful few years at Paris St Germain, Luiz added a league title and another FA Cup to his resume.

He has also notched up 57 caps for Brazil.
