DEONTAY WILDER will resume his boxing career against Tyrrell Herndon on Friday night.

The Bronze Bomber has been out of action since his knockout defeat to Zhilei Zhang last June.

Deontay Wilder will face Tyrrell Herndon on Friday night

It was the second time Wilder blew his chance of fighting long-term rival Anthony Joshua in a blockbuster bout at Wembley.

The Zhang loss was the Alabama puncher’s fourth defeat in five, which sparked talk of retirement from many, but the former WBC heavyweight champion is not done yet.

A win over Herndon could see the 39-year-old come back in the mix for another big-name bout.

Wilder will be the big favourite on Friday night, but his opponent is on a run of three straight wins, and it will be the biggest night of his career.
