JURJEN VAN DER VELDE asked “do I have such a bad haircut?” after receiving bizarre fan abuse at the UK Open.

Van der Velde, 22, reached the fifth round of the darts competition in Minehead.

The Dutchman KO’d Tytus Kanik, Bradley Brooks, Keane Barry and Adam Lipscombe.

But Van der Velde met his match in former UK Open champ Nathan Aspinall.

And the Premier League star ended up bagging a simple win with a 10-2 victory.

However, the manner of Van der Velde’s defeat did not go down well with a fan on social media.

The ace revealed a message from one person calling out his haircut.

Van der Velde’s barnet was compared to his throws at the double.

And the youngster went online asking supporters if he really did need a new trim.

The original message to Van der Velde read: “Haha omg what a mismatch. Your doubles were as bad as your haircut.”

The player responded publicly: “Do I have such a bad haircut?”

Van der Velde’s latest agony came just three months after bursting into tears on stage at the Youth World Championship.

He lost the final 6-5 to fellow Dutchman Gian van Veen after missing five match darts.

Van der Velde’s defeat saw him miss out on a hefty share of the £100,000 prize pot.

It also saw him lose his PDC Tour Card while also failing to reach the World Darts Championship.
