A cop from the Port St. Lucie Police Department posed as a mum and started a “platonic relationship” with Murdoch.

Murdoch is alleged to have grown close to the parent after finding out she had two young daughters aged five and nine, police believe.

During the investigation, police uncovered “stomach churning messages” sent from the doctor.

One conversation detailed Murdoch’s plans to groom the child and “turn the situation sexual”, according to police documents.

Port St. Lucie Police Department said in a statement after making the arrest: “Murdoch goes into detail of his demented behavior that is too explicit to share in its entirety.

“However, it varied in having a sexual relationship in multiple ways.”

Cops shared one text exchange as part of their investigation which saw Murdoch ask: “How old are your girls?”

The fake mum answered before Murdoch followed up with: “Are you a bad mom?”

After a brief back and forth, the mum asks: “What are you into?”

The undercover cop receives a chilling reply saying: “Hopefully your girls haha.”

During a forensic examination of the Murdoch’s iCloud and messaging account, police located more conversations.

This led them to uncover that a second person was involved.

The individual was training as a medical professional assisted Murdoch in other “alarming dark web hunts,” police said.

The conversations were around “conception, full term abortions, and intentional drug and alcohol use to cause birth defects,” according to cops.

A warrant was immediately issued for the disturbed doc’s arrest.

He was later charged with soliciting a parent to consent to the participation of sexual conduct involving a child.

He is due to be extradited to Florida in the coming days, authorities said.

Murdoch is listed online as a Monroe Regional Hospital associate director for family medicine and resident.

ProMedica, which owns ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe, Michigan, told CBS News the arrest “triggered an immediate suspension of Dr. Murdoch’s hospital privileges and a termination of all activity involving the physician”.
