Firefighters can be seen at the scene on Great Portland Street as drivers edge by in dramatic footage.

The cause of the fire is not yet clear.

All passengers are understood to have been evacuated without any injury.

It had been brought under control by 7am, though the road remains partially closed.

It comes after a Wimbledon Hill Road bus on the 200 route erupted into flames last January due to a fault with the bus’s 24V electrical system.

The incident saw all Metrodecker buses, the model involved in the fire, removed from service whilst an investigation took place.

The Sun has contacted London Fire Brigade for further information.
