A “DRUNK” woman has been arrested in Germany after a violent outburst onboard a flight bound for Cyprus.

The Jet2 flight was forced to land early, after the 41-year-old began attacking passengers and crew members.

The plane had been travelling from the UK to Cyprus before it was forced to land

While onboard, she punches, kicked, insulted and volleyed threats against other people on the Jet2 flight.

Eventually, her “violent behaviour” forced the flight to land early at Cologne Bonn Airport at 7.20pm (6.20pm UK time).

The jet was met by German police who described the Brit as being “heavily intoxicated”.

Mathias Kämpfer, a spokesperson, said: “In consultation with Cologne police, she was taken to the station for further processing and placed in police custody to sober up.”

She is now due to be deported.

The plane was then unable to take off due to a technical issue, forcing passengers to wait until a replacement flight could be found.

German Police have since issued a statement, warning passengers against drinking excessively while flying.

The statement read: “Even small amounts (of alcohol) can have a significantly stronger effect than on the ground due to the unique stresses of flying – such as lower air pressure and altered oxygen concentrations.

“Aggressive behaviour not only endangers other passengers but can also severely impair the safety of a flight.

“The Federal Police therefore urges responsible consumption of alcohol in air travel.”

The news comes just days after another Brit was arrested for disorderly behaviour on a Jet2 flight.

The jet took off from Leeds Bradford at 6.41pm last nightand was bound for Alicante, before being forced to make a U-turn.

The plane was soaring over Leicester, when a “disruptive incident” involving a drunken passenger began.

Passengers videoed the man as he taunted his fellow holidaymakers and said: “Put your phone down and fight one on one.”

One other guest on the flight jumped out of his seat, while someone else shouted: “Don’t rise to it. Let him get chucked off.”

Cheers can be heard in the footage when police finally boarded the flight and removed the drunken man.

In the footage, someone can be heard shouting: “Look behind ya, lad! Look behind ya, big boy! You w****r!”
