A VIRAL flavoured sweet treat, loved by foodies, has been urgently pulled from sale after fears it could trigger dangerous allergic reactions.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an alert over Oslo Arrivo Pistachio Cream Dubai Cake.

They warned that the 40g bars have no English labelling and pose a “possible health risk”.

Sold online by East Midlands Foods Limited, the cake contains eggs, gluten, milk, nuts, soya and sulphites, but the lack of English warnings means anyone with an allergy or intolerance could be caught out.

What should I do if I’ve already purchased it?

The supplier has already recalled all best-before dates and urged shoppers to return the snack.

Upon returning the snack to stores, shoppers are eligible for a full refund.

Dubai Chocolate trend

The scare comes as “Dubai-style” chocolate bars have become one of the UK’s hottest foodie trends.

Inspired by the luxury creations of Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, where pistachio-packed bars like “Can’t Get Knafeh of It” went viral on TikTok.

The craze has seen shoppers scrambling to get their hands on Middle Eastern-inspired bars with gooey nutty fillings and crunchy layers.

Brit supermarkets have rushed to cash in, with versions flying off shelves at places like M&S and Waitrose.

At one point earlier this year, Waitrose even rationed customers to two bars each after stocks ran out in days.

Pistachio has since been crowned the flavour of 2025, cropping up in desserts, lattes and even cocktails, but this latest recall shows the viral craze may have a bitter aftertaste for some.

Which other products have been recalled?

Tesco is urgently recalling a popular meal over a dangerous potential health risk.

The supermarket giant’s Stir Fry Tikka Chicken has been taken off shelves due to undeclared egg and mustard, not mentioned on the label.

This comes after Tesco also issued a recall for a popular beauty product last month.

The retailer’s Kind & Pure Facial Cleansing Wipes were pulled from shelves due to detection of a microbiological risk they have been found to contain.

Following testing, Pluralibacter gergoviae was found in batches of the product.

This made the product potentially unsafe to use, particularly for those vulnerable or with a compromised skin barrier.

More recently, a brand of popular children’s sweets was pulled from shelves over fears it could contained additives banned in the UK.

Your product recall rights

Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know.

Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods.

As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action.

But it’s often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.

If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice has been issued.

When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don’t there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault.

If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer.

They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice.

In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected.

You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item
