Eze has been linked with a move to Arsenal for much of the summer.

But the Gunners have failed to meet Crystal Palace‘s £68million asking price, despite Eze preferring a move to the red side of north London.

That has given Spurs the chance to sweep in, with Fabrizio Romano reporting they have opened talks for the attacking midfielder.

Eze, 27, could arrive to replace the injured James Maddison, who is expected to miss most of the season after tearing his ACL.

Tottenham are also working on a deal to sign Savinho from Manchester City alongside their approach for Eze.

And they have until Friday to trigger the £68m release clause in Eze’s contract.

Palace are yet to receive any offers for the 12-cap star and are in no rush to sell, SunSport revealed.

Arsenal were reported to be considering a £60m bid for Eze but they need to sell before they can buy after splashing the cash on Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christhian Mosquera this summer.

While Bayern Munich were prepared to battle for his signature too.

Boss Vincent Kompany wants a creative player to replace the injured Jamal Musiala, having already missed out on Florian Wirtz to Liverpool this summer.

Tottenham have also opened talks with Man City over a deal for Savinho.

Savinho’s reportedly willingness to leave the Etihad comes as a surprise given he had plenty of first-team football last season.

However, SunSport understands Man City are NOT interested in selling the Brazilian, with a fee of more than £50m required to secure his services.
