SHADOW Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband last night stopped for a chat and selfies with Just Stop Oil bankroller Dale Vince.

The green team met inside the Pullman Hotel in Liverpool, where Labour Conference is taking place – the day Mr Vince announced he would no longer funnel cash to the eco-zealots.

Mr Vince has donated hundreds of thousands to Just Stop Oil, but last night announced intentions to stop paying the group so he can focus on “just stopping the Tories” instead

Mr Miliband and the millionaire were all smiles as they conversed for around ten minutes with a small group of conference delegates.

They then wrapped their arms around each other and snapped some selfies, despite Sir Keir Starmer having previously trashed Just Stop Oil as “chaos” mongers.

Yesterday Mr Vince declared he’d stop bankrolling the eco-zealots because future disruption from the group would be “counterproductive”.

The founder of green company Ecotricity, who is also a major Labour donor, added that mass disruption would “feed the Tories’ culture-war narrative”.

He said: “In order to ‘just stop oil’, first we need to just stop the Tories.”

Mr Vince has been a passionate backer of Just Stop Oil since the group was first formed in February 2022.

He’s given them a whopping £340,000.

And Mr Vince’s green energy company Ecotricity has donated more than £1.4m to Labour since 2014.

Sir Keir has tried to distance himself and Labour from JSO, calling their demands “contemptible”.

Labour and Mr Vince have been approached for comment.
