Macari, now 76, was also put on trial but acquitted for tax fraud that occurred during his time at Swindon.
Other financial irregularities that occurred at the time involving illegal payments to players saw chairman Brian Hillier receive a prison sentence.

While uncle Paul Macari played for Huddersfield and Stoke – another uncle Mike also played for The Potters.
Macari began his professional career at Stoke too but made just one appearance, in the FA Cup.
