COPS have launched a probe after at least eight diners fell ill at a popular Indian restaurant.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Dosa Kingss in Sale, Manchester, at around 12.40pm today.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the eatery on Northenden Road following reports customers had become unwell.

Pictures emerging on social media showed fire trucks and police cars lining the street near the south Indian street kitchen and bar.

MEN reported some diners were treated for “minor reactions”, with one person affected more severely.

Investigations into the shocking incident remain ongoing, but cops were quick to rule out a gas leak.

The force said: “At around 12.40pm today, we received a report of people becoming unwell at a restaurant on Northenden Road, Sale.

“Emergency services quickly attended and several people were treated at the scene for minor reactions.

“Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.”

The road was closed to the public while emergency services attended the scene, with cops in the area for several hours.

Health officials from local Trafford Council are reportedly still on site.

It is understood the customer reactions are related to food served and eaten at the popular restaurant.

On its website, Dosa Kingss describes its food as “culinary excellence”.

It says: “At Dosa Kingss, we take pride in crafting a dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary.

“Our journey began with a passion for South Indian cuisine, and today, we stand as the epitome of dosa perfection.”
