Rowe was reportedly targeted by several of his team-mates and became the subject of their ire.

It is claimed he was accused of lacking effort and he became involved in a heated argument with World Cup winner Rabiot.

The disagreement escalated and the pair are believed to have come to blows.

Marseille have now taken the decision to suspend the pair, per RMC Sport.

They will not train with the first-team squad and look set to miss Marseille’s next match against Paris FC.

There is now talk Rowe could leave the club, having only made his stay permanent this summer after joining on loan from Norwich last year.

He caught the eye at the U21 Euros this summer and scored the winning goal as England beat Germany in the final.

Reports claim Roma and Bologna are interested in signing Rowe, who scored 13 goals in 56 games for Norwich after graduating their academy.

Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi was left fuming following the incident. He said: “The others beat us on the pitch, and we come in here and fight among ourselves.

“You know what that means? That we have small balls. In Marseille, we need to have big ones.”

SunSport has contacted Marseille for comment.
