ONYEE Ng has made the highest-ever break by a woman in a World Snooker Tour event.
The Hong Kong cueist recorded a 137 in frame two of her first-round clash with Liam Highfield at the English Open in Brentwood.

The break consisted of potting 11 blacks, one yellow, one brown and one pink while the 15 reds were on the table.
Her break eclipses the 133 made by English-born, US-based player Allison Fisher, 57, in the 1992 Dubai Classic.
Ng’s display levelled up the scores at 1-1 with Highfield but she eventually lost the match 4-2 at the Essex leisure centre.
Though she hit a 69 break in frame six, Highfield managed to outscore her with a total of 70 points to seal his passage.
He will now meet Oliver Lines in round two of the fourth ranking tournament of the season.
Earlier this season, the 34-year-old Ng became the first woman to reach the last 32 of a ranking event when she appeared at that stage of the Championship League in Leicester.
Despite being ranked 114th on the WST circuit with just £5,000 next to her name – £500 more than Jimmy White has earned – she has real pedigree in the women’s game.
She is a three-time ladies world champion, having triumphed in that event in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

There have been 225 147 breaks in professional snooker, with the first once compiled by Steve Davis against John Spencer at the Classic in January 1982.
None of them have been achieved by a woman thus far, though Ng came as close as anyone had before in competition.
Mink Nutcharut is believed to be the only woman to make a 147 during a practice match, which she achieved in 2019.
Snooker is one of the few sports where men and women can compete on an equal footing.
And there is no reason why a female player, like Fallon Sherrock did in darts six years ago, cannot make a significant breakthrough on the baize against the men.
Elsewhere in the English Open on Thursday, Jimmy White came from 3-2 down to beat Cheung Ka Wai from Hong Kong 4-3 in round one.
The Whirlwind has set up an incredible second-round clash with former world champion Luca Brecel and these two are potting mavericks and kindred spirits in terms of how the game should be played.
