Adams scored three goals in his first six games for the Serie A club, but was dropped to the bench for last night’s trip to Empoli having not netted since September.

Just six minutes after coming on, the forward ended his goal drought in spectacular fashion.

With the score level at 0-0, Adams collected the ball on the halfway line.

Following one touch to set himself, the 33-cap international let fly.

His shot brilliantly fizzed over Empoli goalkeeper Devis Vasquez and into the net.

Adams’ goal turned out to be the winner, with the home side reduced to ten men late on when former AC Milan and Juventus star Mattia De Sciglio was sent off.

The magnificent strike went on to go viral on social media.

One fan wrote: “Beautiful goal Beckham style.”
