A BABY from California has been missing since Thursday after his mom claimed he was kidnapped during an attack in a parking lot.

In an update, investigators have said her story is riddled with “inconsistencies” and that “foul play cannot be ruled out”.

Seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro was reported missing by his mom on August 14

Emmanuel’s mom Rebecca claims she was knocked unconscious by an unknown person and awoke to find her baby gone

Seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro from Yucaipa in San Bernadino County was allegedly snatched from his mother’s truck as she was changing his diaper before going into a sporting goods store.

Rebecca Haro told investigators that she had been hit from behind and knocked unconscious before quickly coming to and realizing her youngest son was missing.

A frantic search for the baby was sparked with helicopters and K9 units also in attendance at the scene at a Big 5 parking lot just before 8pm on Thursday.

With no sign of Emmanuel, the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office issued a bleak update on Saturday stating: “The search for baby Emmanuel Haro continues; investigators cannot rule out foul play.”

The comment came after investigators with the sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division interviewed a number of people regarding the alleged kidnapping.

Interviewees included Rebecca and Emmanuel’s father Jake Haro.

“During those interviews, Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with the interview,” the update said.

“At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel.”
