‘Four shot’ at car dealership in Miami-Dade as cops rush to scene of ‘active shooter’ and shut down roads

AT least four people have reportedly been shot at a car dealership in South Florida, according to witnesses.

Cops raced to the scene after gunfire rang out at a car dealership in an industrial area packed with several warehouses on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect who opened fire died at the hospital after he shot himself during a shootout with cops, according to ABC affiliate WPLG.

All four injured people, including the shooter, were transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for treatment after the shooting.

The conditions of the three other injured people are unclear.

Cops confirmed the shooter shot himself by 2:10 pm.

A business owner who witnessed the shooting said at least four people were shot.

Witnesses said the shooter was wearing a rifle and wearing a face mask.

Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office officers rushed to the scene shortly after.

Video captured tense moments as deputies moved in with shields raised and weapons drawn, approaching a warehouse unit.

Chilling footage from the scene showed a person lying motionless on the floor inside the car repair shop.

Video also showed cops swarming around the warehouse, which was covered in broken glass.

A gun could be seen laying on the floor of the shop.

Moments later, several individuals were seen sprinting out of the building with their hands in the air as law enforcement evacuated the area.

Special response team swept through the complex, clearing buildings and guiding people to safety.

Witness Taryn Leighton she was returning from lunch when law enforcement vehicles began speeding past her.

“I pulled over, thinking it was just an accident,” she told NBC affiliate WTVJ.

“Then I saw officers suiting up with tactical gear and armor, so I quickly parked across the street.”

Another witness described seeing the shooter draw both a handgun and a rifle before opening fire on an officer.

The witness then fled into a nearby warehouse for safety.

SWAT officers were also seen inspecting vehicles parked outside.

Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment by The U.S. Sun.

A massive police presence remains at the active scene.
